I know its been a while. Do you ever have good intentions to do something and then it kind of falls apart? Me too. I have learned not to be to hard on myself when these things happen. I try to think about what I could do differently to ensure success. If I am truly passionate about it, then I will figure out a way to make it happen.
Like this blog for instance...I started it with intention and then LIFE happened. A lot actually has happened since I last wrote. Hence my title....
February 2018 marked 10 years that I have been the owner at Hello Gorgeous. Soooo much has happened in that time and I have learned so much. As I learn, I grow and I change. Last year I felt a big transition coming on...I wasn't sure exactly what it was going to be, but I knew it would be pivotal in my business and personal growth.
It is important for us to pay attention to these signs. Gut feelings, intuition, that little voice in your head, whatever you call it...listen to them! They are there for a reason. We all have them...we just have to listen. Some of you may be too busy to be able to hear them. Finding time to quiet your mind is crucial to get answers to the questions we have. I find that time during meditation. It is where I am still with myself and am able to gain clarity. I never thought I could meditate. I always made the excuse that I had ADD or that my mind went to fast to slow down that much or that I didn't have time to sit on the floor with my legs crossed while chanting Om. (lol) Seriously, those were the stories I was telling myself! What a bunch of BS!
So I tried it...meditation. At first, it was difficult. I found my mind wandering or sometimes dozing off. I just kept at it. Consistently taking time to practice. It's the same thing as when you start training for a marathon or start working out....you don't just run 26.2 miles your first day do you?? So why do we think that we can do that with our minds? I believe our minds are far stronger than our physical bodies, so in fact it is HARDER to control. We have got to SLOW DOWN in order to be able to hear our higher self, messages from God, the universe or whatever you believe. I was one of those people who was always asking the questions, but had a hard time hearing the answers. Until I found meditation.
Now meditation is a regular practice for me. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I slip up and fall out of my groove. When I do, I feel the difference...not in a good way. I meditate daily. Some are longer and more deep than others. Sometimes its 2 minutes I need to re-center myself. Some are alone and sometimes I do group or guided meditation. I am very fortunate to have a meditation center in the building where I work called The Zen Room which is owned by my dear friend Dawn Culp. She created an amazing place where every day people can come and explore their energy in a different way and help tap into their higher self. I just had the pleasure of being a guest on her podcast. (Click the link at the bottom of this post to give it a listen) Each month, I treat my HG Team to a guided group meditation with Dawn. I have grown soooo much because of meditation and it is absolutely beautiful to watch the growth in others around me as they experience it too. There is also a really cool app you can download on your phone called Calm. It is a free meditation app or you can opt to pay for extra meditations. I have the free version and its great! Meditation has guided me through so many changes this past year. Even though sometimes things didn't come quickly, they eventually got clear. If I had let my fears of what others thought or might say take over, I wouldn't have been led to this beautiful new beginning.
